Babaji's Foundation For Education is a not for profit body which will inaugurate a new system of education and approach to teaching children. Babaji's Schools will offer an holistic education that centres on the best interests of each child. The schools will provide the necessary space and experience to equip children for both their outer and inner life. Children are considered as souls in incarnation seeking to express themselves through a bodily form with a purpose and direction in life. We also nurture the personality of each child, recognising the need to build a strong personality through which the inner life of the child can be expressed adequately. Thus children are considered on a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level - the harmonisation of which is paramount.
Children will start each day with a period of meditation or silent reflection. This will take the form of a few minutes silent sitting or a gentle walking meditation for younger children. As they develop and their ability to focus increases, the length of meditation time shall increase as well as their ability to listen to their inner selves. This is the foundation from which their inner life can find expression, providing a strong sense of self and inner quiet that will enable them to think clearly in difficult situations. We have daily meditation to provide space for the soul of a child to begin its process of revelation.
Academic excellence is encouraged at Babaji's Schools through self discipline and loving understanding. Children are provided with a range of subjects to test their adept-ship and skills in any given area. This allows them to become self aware through the discovery of their talents and areas of challenge. We all have areas of 'strength' and 'weakness'. Each child will be encouraged to accept themselves as they are, recognising the truth that everyone has something to offer, each in their own unique way. We provide the necessary support and opportunity for the continued development of their skills in areas of ability. In addition, Babaji's Schools teach the acceptance of challenge, providing the help and support required to overcome the difficulty and grow through the process. We do not need to be afraid of our 'weaknesses'. We can open to a new aspect of life through our right approach and understanding of them. Life is not about being 'perfect' first time. It is about experience and evolving through that experience. We recognise divinity in all that we do and thus provide an all embracing approach to life within the school.
Our comprehensive pastoral care system ensures each child's development is overseen with care and diligence. These formative years of development affect the rest of our adult life and are thus seen as vital to our success and happiness in life.
We know that a creative genius lies within everybody, but is rarely expressed in today's world. Creative genii such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Mozart, Shakespeare or Einstein have enriched our experience and expanded our knowledge through their creations and offerings. By tapping this innate potential within ourselves, we are able to discover new possibilities and resolve old problems with greater ease and facility. The schools will enable those who choose it to express and develop this innate potential and therefore to make a positive contribution to society and the world, whether that be in some small and localised fashion or on a larger platform.
We encourage the expression of Love in all that we do, believing this to be the foundation and Life from which everything springs. Love is the expression of that Life we call God. All power, all knowing and all substance stems from this Life and must thus be vivified by it.
